Holi is Hindu spring festival, it is mainly celebrated predominantly in India and Nepal , but now daysit has also spread to other areas of Asia and parts of the Western world through the diaspora  from the Indian subcontinent, it is also known as the Festival of colours or Festival of Love. Mainly it is observed by Hindus, Sikh, some Jains but now it celebrate Newar  Buddhist and other non Hindus.
 The Frecuency of Holi is annual.


  The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring end of winter ,and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive , repair broken relationships. It is also
celebrated as a thanksgiving for good harvest. It lasts for a night and a day, starting on the evening of the Full Moon day (Purnima) falling in the Hindu Calendar month of Phagun , which falls somewhere between the end of February and the Middle of March in the Gregorian calendar. the first evening is known as Holika Dahan ( burning of demon holika) or  chhoti Holi and the following day as Holi, Rangwali Holi, Dhuleti, Dhulendi or Phagwah.


   Holi is mainly Hindu Religious Festival. Now days it become popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia. The festival is celebrated by Indian subcontinent diaspora in countries such as Jamaika, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad ,South Africa, Malaysia, The United Kingdom , The United State, Canada, Mauritius, and Fiji. In recent years the Festival has spread to parts of Europe North America as a spring celebration of Love , frolic and colours. In Assam Holi is called Phakuwa in Assamese, is celebrate all over Assam. Locally called Dol Jatra, Associated with Barpeta Satra. It is celebrated with colour powders, waters and many more. So many foreigner comes  India to celebrate Holi. This year Holi will celebrate in 21 of March  2019.
